Hike the Hollywood Sign

Taking in some fresh air, and one of the most iconic images of Los Angeles sky line, is a lot of fun! There are three hiking routes that can lead you up to the Hollywood sign in Griffith Park. No matter which flights to Los Angeles you take, seeing that stunning sign lets you know you are definitely in LA!

Here are the different trails that lead up to the famous sign:

  • Brush Canyon Trail: This 6.4 mile round trip has spectacular views. Not to mention a 1,050 feet elevation change. Allow around three hours to make the full trek!
  • Hollyridge Trail: The 3.5 mile hike with a 750 feet elevation change, all round trip. Finding the actually trailhead can be a challenge, but you will immediately get excellent views of the Hollywood Sign!
  • Burbank Peak Trail: 3 miles round trip, an 875 feet of elevation change, as well as incredible scenic views of the city! Great views of the Burbank Peak, which is right at the start of the Burbank Peak Trail!
  • Innsdale Drive: this 750 feet elevation change with a 4.6 mile round trip. The trail may be a more difficult hike, but it’s also a great, free activity in this bustling city!

No matter which route you take to the Hollywood Sign, hiking through Griffith Park is a truly unique LA experience. You can also check out Griffith Observatory if you don’t feel like taking such a long hike. Not only can you avoid the hike, but you can also get great vies of the Hollywood sign from the Griffith Observatory park.

Walk of Fame and TCL Chinese Theatre

After opening in 1927, the TCL Chinese Theatre (previously Grauman’s Chinese Theatre if you’re confused) has been a staple of the LA experience. Not only can you see some of the most famous stars on the Walk of Fame, but you can also put your hands in the famous concrete handprints. They are located right in front of the theater!

Try to match your foot prints with Michael Jackson, Robert De Niro, as well as the handprints of Abbott and Costello and Bob Hope!
